On the plus side, it does make a difference in strength and sort of gives your muscles a fuller feeling (seems to anyway). I started noticing a difference within a couple of weeks of taking it.

| Re: IS CREATINE HARMFUL ? - Posted by anonymous | | (Log in to post your reply) | anonymous | 03/01/2007 03:41:45 | Message: It is important when supplementing with creatine to drink plenty of water; at least 64 oz. a day and more depending on your body and daily activity.
Keep in mind that the gains you experience while supplementing will largely be temporary. Most weight gain during a cycle is due to water retention, while you will gain some lean mass due to the slight improvements in strength which facilitate working out with heavier loads.
Be careful and remember to use creatine for only a few weeks at a time. Take a break from supplementation for at least as long as the time you took creatine, and then cycle again.

 | | Re: help required - Posted by anonymous | | (Log in to post your reply) | anonymous | 06/30/2007 06:23:19 | Message: Hello, you have a very similar body type that I have. I have struggled and struggled to BULK up and become BIG though, what I have found with myself (ME, your results may vary) is that I am designed for speed and power in a small package.
Please, don t let that deter you, look at Bruce Lee )! And, that is exactly the person I am going to point you to. If you want diet information-search diet Bruce Lee...you can probably see where I m goin with this.
Cutting as it may be called, is the result of low body fat so while you may be strong-for your size-your body fat may be high enough to hide your true muslces. I workout EVERY single day and train as a martial artist, I focus on lifting lighter weight absolutely as powerful and as fast as I possibly can. Think of a loved one in danger and watch your reps rise :p. Always keep your body guessing, say, for one week I m only able to complete 30 reps (as power and as fast remember, keep it light so you keep the speed up there!), well, Day 1 of next week I will do 2x15, then day 3 I will go back to 3x10, day 5: 2x5, day 7: 2x15...etc. I have more information, but let s hit up your diet.
Alright, many bodbybuilders with our weight will recommend 30-35g protein per meal so that is your goal at least for protein. No eggs and red meat? No problem! Peanut Butter, FISH (Salmon, Tuna...treat yourself it s HEALTHY!) oh and Chicken. Sorry man, no bacon though pork may fit in every now and then. Try to stay away from processed meats as they are high in fat. That doesn t mean all deli meat is fatty, there are sliced, pure, meats available. Turkey...how could I forget. Heck you could even eat dog...or can you? I dunno but there are a ton of options (TOFU!!!).
You can use the recommendation of protein as a goal and supplement meals with some good old finely filtered whey protein. Generally, slim folks suffer from some form of stomach/intestinal problem and the lactose in weight gain supplements slows their (mine) progress down. I use Whey Kool from GNC Pro Performance and I never have had an issue! Only good results!
Anyhow, I can talk about this all day, but this is ALL from years and years of experimentation. Right now, I m 20 (soon 21), I weigh 128.5lbs and I m not as cut as I think I should be. My base has been there from previous routines but this is my favourite. I m training in Northern Shaolin Kung Fu and the emphasis is on speed and flexibility, the power comes from the delivery and motion. I also have a new-found strength that while I may not bench press as much or squat as much weight but my legs ARE indeed stronger and my core is one thousand times stronger. No wonder Bruce Lee was JACKED/RIPPED!
PS, cardio, cardio, cardio. Punching bags (with proper technique), biking, swimming, skipping (5 minutes of skipping = 15 minutes of jogging).

Since you're only looking 2 weeks out, I'd probably just do 30 minutes of cardio-type workouts once a day. A stair-stepper or exercise bike that uses your legs and arms would probably be good, or some type of cardio class, or both.
If you avoid salty foods for a while, you might be able to lose quite a bit of water weight too.

If you have a sweet tooth you can replace with low fat foods such as low fat jelly which i use if i feel like something sweet.

there is no way in hell(unless you use gear) to drop a ton of weight in 2 weeks, it normally takes ( for example) a bodybuilder 12weeks of constant diet to even see most of the work,
so what im trying to say is: there is no way to loose say...50 pounds (im guessing) in 2 weeks

Rid off the habits (Bad ones) You will start getting somewhere. ISnce this is in 2 weeks, the only thing I can suggest as a quick fix would be to give up few things.
Do not consume any of these items for 2 weeks.
1: Sugar any amount that is. Not even a ½ spoon
2: If you are a Coffee drinker. Substitute it with Green
Tea as many cups as you can fool your system.
3: No POPs, Soft drinks of any kinds. Water is your best
Friend.
4: Avoid Simple carbohydrates at any cost.
5: See a Doctor for long term goals. After all your health
is much more important, not just for 2 weeks, but
rather a life time. A friend is an important ally, your
health is better self.
Good Luck

When Visiting a Dr, include the mediaction that you are taking or have been taking, inquire about the side effects and what to avoid. If the hair retsoring pills do not contain any medication to hinder your progress, ask the physician to assist you in choosing off the shelf supplement without the content of what might be hazardous to your condition. My primary advice is see a Doctor and good luck.

That way you only have to put them into a baggy or something as you walk out the door to head to work, and try eating several small meals throughout the day so that you don't fill up every time you eat. That way you can take in more calories and not have to worry about filling up and feeling "stuffed".

In order for you to be able to gain good weight, you deffinately need to feed those muscles. Unless if the gain you are looking for is any type of gain. Which wont make sense as I understand on this forum.
First thing you will need is protein for a quick recuperation after your workouts. Amongst the many foods that contain protein, Easiest available in Zimbabwe would be Meat. Only thing in your case is the issue of what came first, chicken or an egg, as money is also an issue.
Natural diet that can help you gain good healthy weight, will also; unfortunately cost you money.
Include these in your daily diet and hopefuly you will be OK.
1: Meat, lean if available and chicken breast
2: Vegetables, such as Beans, Whey, Soya.
3: Milk skimmed
4: Plenty of water
5: Fruits
Workout comprising of resistance training and plenty of rest. Avoid Sugar (Table) moderate on Salt intake and things cooked with White Flour or deep fried. As these elemets will only retard the prowess of burning fat.
I hope it helps. The factor is money in your case, I wish I could advice more, but I dont want to be insensitive to your situation.
Dont give up.

I'll use mine for an example. I weigh 229.6 lbs and my current Body Fat Percentage is 19% which equals about 43.6 lbs in body fat. Subtract that from the total body weight and you have 183 lbs. Which I'm not complaining about as my used to be 240 with 26% body fat...which was about 177 in lean body weight.
The biggest key is to have your body fat measured either by calipers or electronically. Measurement calculations are not very accurate.

| Re: Lean body Mass - Posted by over50 | | (Log in to post your reply) | over50 | 12/30/2006 11:08:38 | Message: Since you posted this in July you may have the answer but just in case here you go. LBM = current weight - %body fat of current weight
eg; current wt = 178 current body fat = 11.5%, 178 * .115 = 20.47 therefore Lean body mass = 178 - 20.47 = 157.53
To find your ideal weight at your desired body fat value use the following formula
Ideal weight = current lean mass/1 - desired body fat %
Using the data above Ideal weight = 157.53/(1 - .05) =157.53/.95 = 165.8
good luck

Protein alone is not the answer. First you need to figure out your BMR (resting metabolic rate), then build a program for meals from there ans add 500 to the equation as 1 lb of weight- 3500/ 7 days. Remember 80% of mass gain is diet.

-but you want that only in your post workout meal... protein shake mixed with dextrose, for example...
you want your insulin levels high because you want to supply your muscles with proteins as fast as possible... and the insulin does the part of taking proteins inside the muscle...
in the morning eat alot of carbs, and during the day a lot of proteins... ull have enough energy from the breakfast, and low ammount of carbs during the day will just slightly increase your insulin levels for the proteins...
